Picnic Anyone?

As promised yesterday, I'm going to share the rest of my impromptu charity shop buys after the fabric shop visit.  The charity shop was really busy and trying to steer the buggy round is a challenge so I always wonder what goodies I'm  missing. I had to pull over to let a person through and I spotted this under the shoe rack:

I looked at the tag attached:

It's a film promotional 'The Wind in the Willows' picnic hamper!!  I've been after a picnic hamper for ages and as I child I grew up on 'The Wind in the Willows' so this was obviously meant to be mine :o)

It's lovely inside except for the naff plastic plates, cups and cutlery which have been removed and I've replaced them with what I would like to carry:

Oh yes vintage plates and tea cups (one of my many sets) and will have to make sure I pack lots of yummy calorific treats in cased in my Cath Kidston plastic food boxes lol:

Bring on the sunshine so I can use my £4 hamper! :o)

I also bought a little something which I going to paint:
I'm not going to use it to hang a suit on - going to be adored with jewellery and accessories!  I'll show you all it when its been made over (when i can get a dry day to go and paint it outside!).  This little beauty cost me £5 - spent out on these *wink*.

So those of you who have sunshine (and not gale force winds like we had here yesterday) please send some to me to do my painting.  Thanks my lovelies.

  6. Oh gosh I long to own a picnic hamper one day, I love the idea of packing up and going out on a summer day. Maybe it’s because I am so fond of the teddy bears picnic.
This is such a great find, I really like how it’s Wind in the Willows too, there’s probably not many of these around now.

I am now off to browse around your blog, you have some really lovely stuff, a girl after my own heart! xx

  16. Nice! I'd be so worried I'd break the china--though a picnic with it would certainly be 100x nicer! Hope you get some sunshine soon.
