Need my eyes checked...

Bought myself a couple of "home style" magazines yesterday as I love to have a nosey at other peoples homes and the styling. So imagine my surprise when I turned the first couple of pages and saw this:

A page on the top high street finds and there is only a blooming Rug Beater included!  Those regular readers will remember me buying a rug beater from the charity shop not long ago for 50p see here . The must have beater on the high street is £16 so I'm quids in and bang on trend *wink*.

And for a bit of fun...I was also looking through my vintage books I bought from the boot sale on Sunday checking out the illustrations when I came across this gem from Little Men:

I had to reread possibly the best quote ever in a vintage book:

I don't think I'll be threatening to 'duck someone till they cant see' anytime soon., might end up in a whole heap of trouble ..... ;o)

Happy Friday all - I can see the weekend peaking round the corner.

  2. HAHA!! So you're more on the button that you even knew :-) Your rug beater was a star buy! :-)

Ducking someone until they can't see - reminds me of a Vicar of Dibley episode where Hugo substitutes Duck for a well known expletive!

That page would look good copied and used as a birthday card for someone with the right sense of humour ;)

  5. What is really great about your rug beater bargain is that you can now guiltlessly spend the £15.50 you have "saved" from buying it elsewhere, on other bargains...no? Maybe my maths aren't that great, but if it works for you, don't knock it!!
    ;)

  18. Hi Scarlett! i had to do a second coat of the 2nd bookcase this morning then waited till it's dried while cutting up the CK wallpaper and trying to rummage my sewing box to find leftover lace/ribbons for the the bookcase but can't find one, so I cut a white fabric in a scallop style and just stick them with glue to the top of the bookcase hahaha so impatient! xx
