My New Pretties

Mr Postman delivered the new pretties for my vintage compact collection yesterday. Being a rockabilly chick I love the Flamingos, yes I had some plastic flamingos in the back garden but unfortunately the rain in blighty (and lack of pink fish) had left them a manky shade of off white so they have gone to the flamingo heaven in the sky (aka The Tip) and I'm now on the look out for some replacements.  But until then I am loving  this:

Stratton compact with a flamingo print!!!  Its so amazingly clean inside too:

Its sad how excited I was about bagging this baby!

Here is the other more subtle lady:
Again another Stratton compact which is a bit more understated, but still just as shiny and fabulous.

So these are my two new lovelies, I also discovered this weekend that there is a British vintage compact collectors society - who'd have thought!  Its very exclusive though as charges a yearly membership fee ;o) lol.

And here is one last look with my beautiful hairbrush from Kylie:

Ta ta for now

  1. Hi Scarlett, loving the flamingo compact. I too have pink flamingos in the back garden but, unfortunately, they've lost their legs (how, I know not) so they lie around looking a bit hopeless and sad! I can't bear to throw them away, though. I tried getting replacement flamingos from the internet (this was a while ago now) but couldn't find any anywhere! The US company that made them, apparently, went bust. Boo hoo.

    Have a lovely day. xx

  9. Stratton compacts are my favourites - there are some utterly fab designs! Although my plain gold coloured one isn't too fancy but I adore it. Those flamingoes are incredible - it's so you! Lol. The plainer one is just as lovely though and they look great with Kylie's hairbrush!

  13. Gosh, there's an association for everything these days isn't there?! That Flamingo compact was a great buy, have you got a dress with Flamingo print on it? I'm sure I've seen someone wearing a halter-neck. That's be a lovely combo.

  15. Ooh fly my pretties, fly! There is a wetlands centre round by my folks (Swansea valley) which has all the local birds - mallards and such - and then some random flamingos which are unbelievably noisy and stinky. I think I prefer your compact ;-)
