One down one to go...

I've finished one chair! Hoorah!  Remember these bad-boys:

Well a bit of blue paint, some Cath Kidston 'Chelsea Roses' napkins and some serious hours put in with the mod podge and we got ourselves a spanking new chair:

 Not bad for a £2 buy :o)

Thanks for all your ideas on what to do with these, the decoupage idea won me over :o)
I've painted the other chair but am deciding what print to use before I start another decoupage marathon!

  2. Those look absolutely fabulous!! Anything with decoupage and I'm SO there, it takes patience but the end result is well worth it. The Chelsea Roses pattern goes perfectly with the shade of blue paint you've used too :-)

  6. OMG, Scarlett, these are truly amazing. Napkins?? Proper paper napkins? Was it difficult to do? Did you rip the napkins into small pieces and stick them on? Layers of varnish? How many?

Did I tell you I was going to do something similar and had started collected flower catalogues to do it? Well, you've inspired me to give it a go1 Yay for decoupage!

  7. Thanks all, to answer a few questions - it has 3 layers of mod podge ontop used as a sealer which gives it a matt appearance as didnt want to varnish as not wanting the shiney look. It'll hold up find with use hopefully! Yup used napkins - 3 ply ones, remove the two plain pieces and just use the pattern top sheet and lay it on in big pieces as its a repeating pattern. Its not difficult but takes ages. I've painted the other chair a moonlight white and am going to start the sticking process ont that - eek! Scarlett x
