If you got it flaunt it...

I'm back from a little impromptu weekend stay in Brighton.  One of my favorite places to lose myself for a few hours so a weekend away there was amazing.  Yes it was wet and windy and my hair looked like an electrified pineapple but hey its Brighton!

So what was the highlight of my stay? The shops? The architecture? The beach?.....

Hell no it was the 2011 Naked Bike Ride *naked people warning*

And they're off...

Far too many cycle helmet jokes....
These fabulous people ride naked each year to demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists on the road and to protest against oil dependency.  And hey if my body was as amazing as some of the these naked ladies then I'd be in my birthday suit on my bike too ;o).

Witnessed at a Naked Bike Ride

After the bike procession had gone and the traffic was moving we spotted a lone guy in just a tiny g-string come riding round the roundabout  trying to catch up with the rest of them and take the wrong turning heading away from the Brighton centre and towards the next town!  We waved him down and pointed him in the right direction, he did however look at us a bit suspiciously trying to work out if we were telling the truth. As if we would send a naked guy on a bike to Hove to be arrested for indecent exposure.... ;o)

Im off to try and catch up with all your blogs! Hope I havent scarred anyone for life with these pics ;o)

Mwah

  2. Phew, you pictured me before my mask blew off, my secret super-hero identity is still safe ;-)

That poor woman in the middle is just trying to get to her homoeopathy appointment...suddenly surrounded by all these naked Brighton nutters, love it!

  3. Only you Scarlett, only you could have a weekend like this! If I sat on a bike naked, I'd need the seat surgically removed from the crack of my ass! Glad you got away, I've never been to Brighton, but would love to go.

  7. Gosh it would be dreadful for the naked cyclists if they went over a nasty bump or too- Ouch! Wow I think it's worth going to Brighton to just see that!Although I wouldn't like the endless questions though from my two children like 'why are they naked Mummy? Great post, not scarred at all! Bx

  10. I was in London on Saturday and there were two big groups of naked cyclists riding down Oxford Street. They certainly made me smile as did the expressions on the faces of some of the tourists watching in amazement.

Lakota's comment cracked me up...that poor lady does look like she's trying to get to her homeopathy appointment! or maybe to her podiatrist...it would be a nightmare fo me to be stuck in her situation!

  12. OMG! How funny! My memories of the last time I was in Brighton a few years ago was needing lots of clothes because it was cold & windy. It was May, and you could lean forward almost horizontally into the wind and you wouldn't fall over! How funny! Hope they don't all come down with pneumonia!

  14. I don't think this could ever happen in Roanoke - although we have a lot of cyclists, they're always clothed. Too funny.

  15. Ooh, I love Brighton! This naked-bike thing is typical of Brighton, I think they just elected a green council? NZ has a "boobs on bikes" parade ever year but its run by the porn industry so not so quaint as this one!!!

  18. Blimey yes I saw this in a previous year - we were in Brighton for shopping and it took us quite by surprise. My boys were with us too and they loved it (of course) - my youngest son nearly fell over laughing at the naked willies and wobbly bellies and my eldest's eyes nearly popped out of his head at all the boobs on show. I think he couldn't quite believe his luck.

I think if I climbed on Maud with my naked bits she take would off in fright right into the middle of oncoming traffic and that would be the end of me. :)

  19. Something a little different! I laughed so much looking at the second picture, it looks as though a poor woman has got caught up in all the action fully dressed, not sure if she is meant to be there or not, it made me chuckle xxx
