Blogger has decided that its had enough of my charity shop picture taking exploits and has now slapped on a photo ban - I have apparently "Exceeded my photo limit".
I've been into Picasa web albums (where blogger saves all our pictures) and have resized some photos to make room but its still having none of it. So it seems therefore that I need to pay $5 annual subscription to obtain more storage.
So my lovely blogging buddies I need a bit of advise, have any of you paid to upgrade your storage? Im a bit dubious about putting in my card details for this. Have any of you found a way around paying this subscription?
Hopefully normal blogging will resume shortly :o)

Christ - that has me a little worried as I had no idea that could happen!!
ReplyDeleteJem xXx
I know Jem, didnt know either until it popped up :o( Hoping that some of the longer time bloggers will be able to shed some light x
DeleteEkk .. i didn't realise there was a limit? has anyone else come across this?
ReplyDeleteMantha xx
I'm really scared, hope someone has an answer. Off to hide under the duvet
ReplyDeleteI haven't reached the limit but I know that others have and they just paid the $5 and went on. I think Diann at Thrifty Groove did that and she is someone I trust if you want to ask her! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I have heard of this ,we will miss your pix ..love your blog I like to read of your overheard conversations too hee hee ...love Jan xx
ReplyDeleteAmor that happen to me,but then I switched to my own blog domain, haven't had problems with it so far.
ReplyDeleteI do not advice to pay for your own domain it was drama for me with the links and stuff.
for now try Photobucket for free.
you can get a year of unlimited subscription for like $15.
I know Sian from Sian Lile Makes got that scary message but she has been posting pics again - you could ask her. Bit worried I'll be getting the same one soon with all my nonsense eBay pics!
ReplyDeleteSorry Scarlett, can't advise but do let us know how you resolve it. Silly Blogger.
ReplyDeletenooooo! what is blogger thinking of? hope some genius idea comes up soon x
ReplyDeleteHappened to me last year, I paid the fiver and everything was safe and fine. Received a receipt etc x
ReplyDeleteI have this problem also...let me know what you find out.
ReplyDeleteYes happened to me got rid of some duplicate pictures which worked for a while but recently had to pay the $5. But all seemed fine and was back up and running in no time. Like you I was really dubious about buying more storage but it seems fine and I got an e-mail receipt for it too.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps!
MBB x
I don't know anything about that, but Blogger says I've exceeded my limit and now my posts never show up in follower's readers. I've spent way too much time trying to fix it.
ReplyDeleteHi Pretty Girl, well I sure hope this helps all of you. This happened to me and then from somewhere in my memory, I remembered something about this from when I first started out.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I down loaded Picasa onto my computer, and that solved that problem for me. I wasn't going to pay, so I looked for a way! Luv you! Loretta
PS. I also down loaded Google +, and I love it! Faster, clearer, easy and both of these are free!!!
Yep,I had that a while back, paid the fiver and have had no worries! I use Picasa too, but the message I got was from Google, which hosts Blogspot.

"ohhh NOOOO"
ReplyDeleteI post so many darn pictures.. Especially during garage sale season of my finds... I am afraid I will get this message soon too. *EAAAAK*
Hey Doll I too had to buy more storage but I tend to keep most photos in my Aperture program on my iMac so I'm good to go.
ReplyDeleteThat happened to all the blogs created by "Happy loves Rosie" . She had to pay her subscription before any of our photos returned xx
ReplyDeleteI've just checked my account - I've been blogging for 2 1/2 years but have used just over 10% of my allowance. It must be down to the size I load my pics at - as low as possible - 480x640 and then make them bigger within the blog - does any of that make sense??
ReplyDeleteI load my pics directly rather via Picasa - do we actually need Picasa accounts or can the pics be deleted without affecting the blogs??
hi there! yep, i got the message and i paid the $5 and am back posting again. i know that jen deleted some of her pics off picasa as apparently they double up a lot... but i was too lazy to check.xx
ReplyDeleteoh, vicki? i don't go via picasa either... but i think blogger does it automatically... i think if you delete some old pictures they will just be removed from the blog (tho i don't know that for sure)
ReplyDeleteIt has happened to me too Scarlett maybe it's cos I'm a Yorkshire lass and didn't want to fork out any money but I went into the albums and deleted a lot of older photos and this made enough room for now. This has happened twice now, maybe I should just pay next time!
ReplyDeleteBee happy x
Have a delicious day!
I also wasn't aware there was a photo limit..thanks for letting me know about it..
ReplyDeletejuck...didn't know there was a photo limit....recon I have some sereous deleting to do...
ReplyDeleteI had the same happen to me so i went into the programme where they were storing my photo's and i delated a load of them it worked i didn't have to pay yet. But it did mean that i lost a load from my blog and my past posts. Good luck i will be interested to hear what you do, dee x
ReplyDeletei need to look deeper into this, so if we just use 800x800 size all the time, there's no limit in storage? but if we use photos larger than that we can exceed our limit? or they gave you 1gb for photos larger than the above? ummm i'm abit worried now that i have to pay even for blogging, time to find a job before i need to pay for anything! hehe
