So as promised a little show and tell on the charity shop items I picked up yesterday after the jumble sale - I must go back to this particular shop as it had amazing stuff, plus the general population of the town is slightly older so you know you are in for good stuff and not just the usual manky primark off casts.
First off my 'big ticket' item which was in the middle of the window display:
I was going to say I've got a thing for 'Jugs' but when I said this to hubby to justify my purchases he gave a school boy laugh so I'll just say I like to buy a jug or two lol. This one is huge, its going to easy fit a whole bouquet of flowers (if I keep hinting long enough). Its marked made in England but I not sure who the maker is, would love to find out. It was a 'big ticket' as it cost me £6 -oooooh I hear you cry :o) I also ruined their window display by taking this and made a poor little lady hot foot it across a dozen plates to reach it (have no idea why who put that display together), but she wouldnt let me go in to get it myself...blooming health and safety.
Next in the bag was yet another jug:
Made by Johnson Brothers and probably is 1950's - check out the amazing handle - love it! This was spotted and grabbed before the lady in front of me got to it, she then followed me round the shop waiting for me to put it down - no chance sweetheart, this little beauty was £2.50 and was most definitely coming home with me.
I then found this great picture, I dont normally buy pictures but this little frog and blue tit print was very kitsch and looks really old, havent been able to find anything about it yet online:
It looked very cute when I picked it off the wall, but what really made me chuckle was that on closer inspection one of the panels was quite gruesome:
A frog being speared by his mate for the lady frogs affections by a pond rush - Nice! This picture cost me £2.50, I'm going to paint the frame and it will probably get hung in my bathroom, will be interesting to see if any of my guests notice the froggy murder.
So that was my charity buys, I've also been a busy bargain hunter at the boot sale today and without the accompaniment of Fugly I've got some amazing stuff - was a good turn out but I think I've bored you all enough today with my finds so going do the boot sale booty post tomorrow...I'm sure you're all on the edge of your seats waiting for that one ...haha!
Happy Sunday my Lovelies
