The charity shops in my area pride themselves on doing a decent window display depending on what the season is or based around a theme. They seem to squirrel away like items till they have enough to fill the window. For example one of them not long ago did a Harry Potter window with all kinds of magical/wizard related items - it was quite impressive. The same shop did an Oscar's window display too with old Hollywood great pictures and red carpet glamour clothing. So not to be out done the charity shop the other side of town has done an Easter window:
Nothing says Easter more than grotty cuddly toys *wink*. Don't fight over the items all at once ladies haha. I think my nearest charity shop has got some serious competition ;o). You can see from the reflection that I was hiding behind my massive pushchair taking the sneaky picture.
The other charity shop however had a come and buy me window:
Look at all the breakables just wanting me to take them home :o)
I did treat myself to a couple of bits:
1950's frosted shot glasses - 50p for all 5 (they were on the bargain shelf).
1950's French glass decanter which matches my other one that was bought at the boot sale a couple of weeks back:
I paid £1.30 for the new addition.
His and Hers vintage pillowcases - still in the original box - £2.00 :o)
And in case you are wondering what the window display at the 'secret' charity shop is well:
There is no window as the shop is hidden in this old school! You can now see why its a secret charity shop :o)

LOL at the Easter window - must've taken ages to set them all up like that. Do you suppose they come to life at night? I like the other window - lots of blue & white I'd like to pick through - you found some great things as always. Careful not to give too many hints about your secret charity shop location .... you don't want anyone going through your stuff!
ReplyDeleteAm loving the secret charity shop!!! There is a thrift shop here based in the upstairs of a house on the RAF married quarters. Its mostly full of toys and clothes with a few bits of good thrift. It has restricted opening hours so I do not get to it at all these days!!! Good to know about secret places!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is one manky display!! I love those shot galsses and what a bargain for 50p; my mum has a jug in the same shade of light green.
ReplyDeleteArghhhhh cuddly toys my pet hate yuk yuk yuk lol
ReplyDeleteThe other window is very tempting though cant believe how cheap you get your treasures for ;)
Massive difference in display - know which one I prefer! Great finds, especially those pillow cases.

ReplyDeleteLove the shot glasses! Can't believe they were 10p each. Our charity shops do similar with the themed windows, mostly quite good considering but there was a bloody awful one for valentines day.
ReplyDeleteI have just been very childish and photographed all the rabbit toys in my house misbehaving. A friend's daughter left her toy here so it's having a sleepover til tomorrow. I just tagged my mate on FB in a photo of all these toy rabbits drinking vodka and snorting lines! (of flour, obviously)
Would the shot glasses work as egg-cups?
ReplyDeleteWoot!! that charity shop window beats my nearest charity shop who also try to do an easter display but failed! it also beats the goods in those window where i can see lots of teapots , teacups and plates!! ohhhh i so want to grab those!! the frosted glasses are so cute and colorful! love them! and you got two matching decanters now! the pillowcases are adorable for his and hers and it's still in the box! ReplyDeleteP.S: i'm starting to wonder where the book that you sent me, i hope you did put a return address? it's just a shame if it got lost in the sorting post office *sob* but i'll keep an eye of it tomorrow! *hugs*
